Sharpening Hair Trimmers-Make them More Effective
Hair clippers won't work properly if you don't keep them clean. The working process of hair trimmers is similar to scissors operate, in that two blades are rubbed sideways across each other reduced pressure, cutting your hair that between those blades in the process. The process sharpens the blade as metal sharpens metal. Now and then, hair trimmers may appear to grow dull from hair care product concentration, erosion from deficiency of use, or from inappropriate use. In this case, there are a few things you can do to sharpen hair trimmers.
Instructions
Step 1
Disassemble the trimmer head using the screwdriver. Lay all the parts out in the order in which they were assembled.
Step 2
Soak the blade in a bowl of rubbing alcohol to remove any haircare product buildup.
Step 3
Inspect the blade for any corrosion or obstructions. Gently rub the blade with the soft cloth to remove any corrosion, obstructions or remaining buildup.
Step 4
Oil the surface of the whetstone lightly. You can sharpen the edge blade by rubbing it back and forth and up and down on the whetstone. Turn the blade over once you have done this, and repeat the process.
Step 5
Wipe the blade off with rubbing alcohol once more and you're ready to reassemble the trimmer.
Step 6
The instruction card suggests putting three drops of sewing machine oil on the blade.
